Thank You

Friends,

I write to thank you for all you have done over the past year to support our campaign for the House of Delegates.  While last night’s result was unfortunate, we do not regret being in the battle.  There is so much value in the battle.

By every measure, together we mounted one of the most comprehensive, well-fought delegate campaigns in modern Virginia history.  I am so proud that together we:

  • Engaged over 500 volunteers;

  • Knocked on 100,000 doors;

  • Made more than 75,000 phone calls; and

  • Raised more in financial contributions than any delegate campaign...ever.

Most importantly, we brought a positive message and new ideas for addressing our most pressing challenges in transportation, education, state finances and improving the accountability and responsiveness of state government.

I hope that, like me, you take great satisfaction in knowing that we achieved excellence in all matters within our control in this election contest.  Along the way, we advanced our shared values and forged and deepened friendships that will outlast even the stormiest political seasons.

Of course, much work lies ahead.  We must continue our fight for progress and endeavor to elect and reward thoughtful leaders committed to unleashing the great potential of our Commonwealth.  I still believe in a Virginia where ideas trump ideology, and policy stands above politics.  Our shared future depends on it, and I look forward to standing with you in that fight.

With deepest gratitude,

Greg Werkheiser
